What size opening does the fitting need?
The mounting hole diameter is 13/16", so the tank wall or lid must be prepared to that size for the bulkhead to seat and seal correctly.
Why does it use high-temperature silicone O-rings?
Silicone keeps its elasticity and sealing ability at elevated temperatures, which is what allows a hermetic seal when the fitting is exposed to hot liquids or cleaning cycles.
Is a thermometer or sensor included?
No. The fitting provides the 1/2" female-thread port for mounting a sensor, but the thermometer itself must be purchased separately.
