What is the filtration accuracy of the S10N filter plate?
The S10N plate offers 0.8 micron filtration accuracy, suitable for the fine refinement of wines, juices and other clear liquids. This level removes yeast cells and fine haze particles, resulting in a clear and stable final product ready for bottling or further processing.
What size filter press are these plates suitable for?
The plates are designed for plate filter presses with a plate size of 20x20cm, which are widely used in smaller and medium-sized wine cellars and juice productions. One 20-disc pack typically covers one complete filtration cycle on a 20-disc device, depending on fluid clarity and quantity.
What is the maximum working pressure?
The maximum recommended pressure difference between the plates is 2 bar. Exceeding this value can cause plate breakage and uncontrolled bypass. We recommend monitoring the inlet and outlet pressure gauges throughout the process and slowing down the pump if the plates become saturated.
Can the tiles be recycled?
Filter plates are disposable consumables. Although flushing can seemingly restore flow rates, the depth filtration matrix is damaged after loading and does not guarantee the original 0.8 micron filtration accuracy. For food-safe results, install new plates for each cycle.
What liquids is the 0.8µ grade suitable for?
The 0.8 micron grade is ideal for the final filtration of wine, cider, fruit juices, vinegar and other pre-clarified beverages. For turbid liquids, we recommend using coarser pre-filtration before the 0.8µ plates to extend plate life and maintain flow rate.
