What can be filtered with 2 µm filter plates?
2 µm filter plates are suitable for fine filtration of juices, wines, ciders and similar drinks. They trap yeast cells, fine sediment and turbidity particles, giving the final product a clear and finished appearance. They are not suitable for sterile filtration - this requires a finer grade (0.45 µm or less).
Why should the working pressure not exceed 2 bar?
Higher pressure can deform or break the plates, causing unfiltered liquid to bypass the filter layer. By keeping the pressure difference below 2 bar, you ensure a stable flow, uniform filtration quality and a longer service life of the plates.
How many liters can be filtered with one set?
Permeability depends on the clarity of the entering fluid. For wine or juice explained above, a 20 plate set can usually process several hundred liters. Highly turbid liquids clog the plates more quickly, so pre-filtration is recommended before fine filtration.
Can the plates be reused?
Filter plates are disposable accessories. The structure of the clogged plate is compressed and the filtering capacity cannot be completely restored. To ensure consistent quality and food safety, replace the plates with new ones for each filtration cycle.
Which filter press do these plates fit?
These 20x20 cm plates fit the 20x20 format of standard small filter presses (eg model 20 presses). Please check your filter press manual for plate dimensions before ordering to ensure full compatibility.
