What is the recommended dose?

Soovitatav annus on 3-10 grammi 10 liitri kohta. Start with a smaller dose (3g) for light corrections and increase up to 10g for more severe oxidation or off-odors. Always do a small sample first to determine the optimal amount for your particular wine.

How long should the charcoal be in contact with the wine?

Let the charcoal sit in the wine for about 24 hours after intensive stirring. This contact time is sufficient for effective absorption of odors, off-flavors and color pigments. Longer exposure is not recommended as it may also remove the desired aromatic compounds.

How to remove carbon after processing?

After 24 hours of exposure, remove the carbon by siphoning the wine from the lees or by filtering. The use of a filter plate or plate filter ensures complete removal of carbon particles, leaving clear and clean wine ready for further processing.
