How does the conical bottom help in everyday use?
The cone funnels sediment and lees toward the bottom outlet, so you can draw clear liquid through the side valve and flush settled solids out with minimal loss. It also drains the tank fully for cleaning, leaving little residue behind.
What is the floating lid for and how do I use it?
The floating lid rests directly on the liquid surface and seals against the wall, reducing the air gap that would otherwise let wine oxidise. Adjust it down as the level drops so the headspace stays minimal throughout storage.
Can I ferment in this tank straight away?
It works as an open storage or fermentation vessel, but for controlled wine fermentation you need to add a separate fermentation kit, which is not included. Plan for that accessory if your goal is fermenting rather than short-term storage.
How should I clean and maintain the stainless surfaces?
Rinse with warm water and a non-abrasive food-safe cleaner, then dry to preserve the passive layer that keeps stainless corrosion-resistant. Avoid steel wool or chlorine cleaners, which can pit the surface and create spots where staining starts.
