Frequently asked questions about SIP0218
I turn the tap all the way in, but it won't stay straight. How to fix it?
It is not necessary to turn the faucet all the way. Tighten it until the faucet is straight, before the end of the thread. This way you ensure the correct position and a leak-free seal.
How much petroleum jelly is needed for a floating lid?
About 2L of food-grade petroleum jelly (paraffin) oil is sufficient for a 700L container. Pour it between the edge of the floating lid and the inside of the container to create an airtight seal above the surface of the wine.
Is 18/10 stainless steel food safe for storing wine?
Yes, AISI 304 (18/10) stainless steel is fully food grade and widely used in the wine and food industries. It is corrosion resistant, does not react with wine acids and complies with EU food contact regulations.
How to clean the tank after emptying?
Remove the floating cap and residual oil, then rinse with warm water. If necessary, use a food grade alkaline detergent followed by a thorough rinse. Concave welded bottom allows complete draining via 1" tap.
Can this tank be used outdoors?
We recommend using indoors in a cool, dry basement or storage room. Although stainless steel is corrosion resistant, temperature fluctuations and UV radiation can affect the quality of the wine and the integrity of the oil seal.
